The virus is super infectious and deadly. For safety, schools are shut down in the various countries impacted by Coronavirus. Do Not Update to The Latest Kindle Firmware 5.12.4!


Two weeks ago, Amazon released the latest Kindle Firmware 5.12.4. However, Some users are not able to access HomeScreen and get into their library on their Kindle device after updating to the latest Kindle Firmware 5.12.4. But you can still access your content from the search bar, which is very inconvenient to use.
Luckily, if the HomeScreen and library view are disappeared from your Kindle device, here’s the solution to this issue -- deregister and re-register your device and try to download the books from the library. By the way, we suggest you do not update to the latest Kindle Firmware until this bug is fixed. Below is the details about the fix.
To deregister your Kindle:
1. From the Home screen, tap the Menu icon, and then tap Settings.
2. Tap My Account, and then tap Deregister Device.
3. Tap Deregister again to confirm.
Then, restart your device:
1. Press and hold the Power button for 7 seconds until the Power dialog box appears.
2. Tap Restart.
To register your Kindle:
1. From the Home screen, tap the Menu icon, and then tap Settings.
2. Tap My Account.
3. Follow the onscreen instructions to register your device. If your Kindle has already been registered, select the option to deregister your device before entering your new registration information.

Use the onscreen keyboard to enter your Amazon username and password. If you are registering the device for the first time, you may be able to select "Set up Your Kindle" from the Home screen.

To access your Library:
1. Make sure your device is connected wirelessly.
2. From the Home screen, tap My Library, and then tap All.
3. Tap the item you wish to download to your device, and then tap Downloaded to return to your list of downloaded books.
The item will appear on the Downloaded tab automatically when the download is complete.

Kindle Firmware Update 5.12.4 is Available Now!


Amazon released the new 5.12.4 firmware update on February 2020, which would bring some big changes for font choices and reading options. However, according to the changelog, you will only be access to these new changes on the next couple of weeks.
Here’s what's new:
Aa Menu: Over the next couple of weeks, you will see an updated Aa menu that makes it easier to access all font, layout and reading options without leaving your book. Performance improvements, bug fixes, and other general enhancements.
But jhowell from MobileRead said that he examined firmware 5.12.4 and it had a number of changes related to the user interface update known internally as Kindle++. Hes assume that it what is being referenced by the above "What's New" item.
So here are some other features jhowell has found. 
Options to control features like "Popular Highlights", "Word Wise", and "PinYin" moved to the Aa menu.
• Contrast setting with 5 choices: -2, -1, 0, 1, 2
• "Set the cover of the title you are reading to appear on your lock screen" (It's about time!)
The biggest advantages about this update is that it now makes it easier to access all font, layout and reading options without leaving your book.
