Audible Launched Audible Plus to Access Exclusive Content



Audible just launched its third unlimited subscription audiobook service called Audible Plus. It will cost $7.95 per month.

Audible Plus is a membership that offers full access to thousands of high-quality audio programs across different genres, lengths, and formats. The content included in the Audible Plus Catalog includes ad-free podcasts, exclusive podcasts, Audible Original titles, audiobooks and more. There is no limit to the number of titles in the catalog an Audible Plus member can listen to each month.



It includes a catalog where you can access so many titles. The Plus Catalog is an amazing collection of binge-worthy audiobooks and genre-bending Audible Originals. This catalog is a membership benefit for our Audible Plus and Premium Plus members, who can listen to all they want to any title included in the catalog. Audible Originals are created to be listened to and can’t be found anywhere else!

New Kobo Software Update 4.23 Released

Kobo firmware 4.23.15505 has been released on August 10, 2020. Now, this new firmware update is available to the Kobo Touch A/B, Kobo Touch C, Kobo Glo, Kobo Glo HD, Kobo Touch 2.0, Kobo Aura, Kobo Aura HD, Kobo Aura H2O, Kobo Aura H2O Edition 2 v1, Kobo Aura H2O Edition 2 v2, Kobo Aura ONE, Kobo Aura ONE Limited Edition, Kobo Aura Edition 2 v1, Kobo Aura Edition 2 v2, Kobo Nia, Kobo Clara HD, Kobo Forma, and the Kobo Libra H2O. It has not been released to the Kobo Mini. 

This update comes with some significant changes to the user interface.

New global bottom navigation for Home, My Books, Discover, and More. And the main list of menu items at the top left corner is replaced by a clock.

In the library view, there’s a scroll bar to help navigate through your ebook library. And there are some other design changes as well, such as new style for library tabs and no more pagination controls in the library views.

Now you can download the update from the Kobo Firmware Downloads page or you can wait for the update to automatically download, which may take a few weeks.

Onyx Boox Poke2 Color Just Sold Out

Onyx Boox is a brand of e-book reader produced by Onyx International Inc, based in China. Like most e-book readers, the Boox uses electronic paper technology.

On August 10, 2020, Onyx had officially released their first ebook reader that uses E Ink’s new color Kaleido screen technology. But they only produced 100 units and were sold out in a few hours. 

The Poke2 Color features a 6-inch E INK Carta HD Display with a resolution of 1072×1448 with 300 PPI. The color mode can show 4096 colors with 100 PPI to bring content to life. The Poke2 Color has a 2.0GHz octa-core processor with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. It has a frontlight with adjustable color temperature and it supports dual band Wi-Fi and USB OTG. It has a 1500mAh battery and microUSB port. The device weighs only 150 grams.

Like Onyx’s other Android devices, the Poke2 Color runs Android 9.0 and is open to install apps, including the Kindle app, so that makes it a lot more versatile than a typical e-reader. 

Let’s wait and see if Onyx will continue to produce such color E Ink devices.

Amazon Removed Downloading Feature For Kindle Cloud Reader

Amazon has removed downloading feature for Kindle Cloud Reader for security reasons. From now on, you can never download Kindle books for offline reading or other purposes, such as convert Kindle books.
