ImageComics.com will stop selling DRM-free digital issues

In July 2013, Image Comics made a major industry change by stating they would sell their digital comics DRM-free, allowing people to download them onto a variety of devices and read them without having to use a proprietary app. A year after that, ComiXology began allowing publishers to sell DRM-free comics through their digital service, including Image Comics. However, five years later, if you want to download those comics, you’d better do so sharpish as Image Comics announces they are going to quit directly selling or supporting DRM-free comic books.

In a letter to customers, they say;
Dear Valued Customer,
This is an email alert to inform you that ImageComics.com is discontinuing the sale of DRM-free titles through our site.
Beginning on November 5th, 2018, DRM-free versions of our books will no longer be available for purchase and all sales of DRM-free versions through ImageComics.com will be discontinued.

What this means for you:
  • From November 5th, 2018 through February 3rd, 2019 you can still access your previous purchases through https://customer.imagecomics.com. We recommend that you download and save your purchases at your earliest convenience before February 3rd, 2019.
  • Future titles will be available for purchase through our other digital vendor partners, and DRM-free versions through other services that offer it, like comiXology.
  • You will still be able to purchase physical copies of our books and subscribe to series through Image Direct (https://subscriptions.imagecomics.com) as well as your local comic book store. Image Direct will NOT be affected by this change.
To be honest, DRM is really a pain in the ass with so many restrictions. But the good news is you don’t need to worry about DRM at all if you have an eBook DRM Removal. Take Epubor Ultimate software as an example, it can help you remove DRM from all Kindle/Kobo/Nook/Google Play Books, etc. And it can also convert book format.

E-books vs audiobooks, which do you love more?

E-books and audiobooks all have many advantages.
eBooks are easy to travel, no weight, lower cost or may be free of cost, available all time, easy to get and have a huge number in single device.
1.       eBooks are portable. Your entire personal library can follow you anywhere, not the other way around.
2.      Note taking is easy. Yes, you can highlight, bookmark and write notes on eBooks too.
3.      Search is easy. You don’t even have to remember which book/eBook had something you wanted to reference again. Just search, find, read.
4.      You can have the eBook read to you with text to speech option turned on.
Audiobooks are also good. Audiobooks are immersive, educational, instructional, entertaining and they’re perfect for the time rich and the time poor. Audiobooks can also change the way we listen, read and learn, improving the literacy of young readers and those for whom English is a second language.

1.       Save Time. As much as we discourage multitasking, sometimes it can be useful and effective. Audiobooks are great for that. You can listen while you’re cleaning the house, folding clothes, shaving or anything else that doesn’t require much focus.
2.      Effective. Some books are better to consume over audio than over text. I find that conceptual books and biographies are better off consumed over audio than text.
3.      Convenient. Audiobooks are really convenient. You can have them on your phone, iPod, computer and in the car. This makes the content accessible and you can easily continue where you left off from last time.
4.      Faster Learning. One of the main advantages of audiobooks is that you can pace the information you consume. I like to play my audiobooks at 1.5x or 2x speed and it doesn’t affect my comprehension.
Personally, I like both ebooks and audiobooks. They are good for me to enrich my knowledge and know the world better. And I also want to introduce you the best of the best eBook DRM Removal and Audiobook Converter tool. If you also interested in liberating your books like I do, you can go to Epubor website to check it out.

Amazon added 1000+ kid-friendly audiobooks to FreeTime Unlimited

Amazon FreeTime Unlimited is an all-in-one subscription that gives kids access to thousands of kid-friendly books, movies, TV shows, educational apps, Audible books, and games on compatible Fire, Android, iOS and Kindle devices. FreeTime Unlimited allows parents to pay a set price per month to give their kids access to age-appropriate, Amazon-approved content, including apps, games, videos. It also gives parents access to their kids’ viewing habits and the ability to set time limits. Basically, it’s Amazon’s program for ensuring that kids never go somewhere online that their parents wouldn’t like.

Now the good news is that Amazon is making more than 1,000 kid-friendly audiobooks available through its FreeTime Unlimited program. Parents can also add additional audiobooks through Audible to their kids’ device through the Parent Dashboard and add any Audible title from their own library to their child’s. According to Amazon, kids can listen to classic books like Peter PanRip Van WinkleBeauty and the Beast, and Snow Queen. They will also be able to listen to holiday stories, including Corinna the Christmas ElfThe Night Before Christmas, and The Gingerbread Man and Other Children's Favorites.

By the way, if you are a parent wondering how to liberate Audible books, you can read this guide about how to convert AA/AAX to MP3. Then you can take the full control of your purchased Audible books.
