Google Play Books App Gets a Redesign

Google has finally updated the Google Play Books app with the new Material Theme design. This means plenty more white, rounded corners and more. The app now features a uniform white color theme across the screen, with a redesigned tab bar, smaller thumbnails with rounded corners, new typography and an overall cleaner look. Google Play Books has only rolled out in Russia for now, so below screenshot of the updated design is in Russian, so a direct comparison requires a bit more imagination.

The reading experience on the app hasn’t changed much, although the small tweaks aren’t good for those who want better accessibility to the app. Some of the text on the page have shrinked and some of the interactive elements are also smaller. Of course, you can always adjust the font sizes since this is an ebook reader.
Do you like this new interface at first sight? By the way, if you want to decrypt Google Play Books, you can read this tutorial guide about how to get rid of Adept DRM and take the full control of your purchased Google Play Books
